Guitar ensemble of the “D.A.” musical high school. Azuni” of Sassari

The guitar ensemble of the Azuni Musical High School of Sassari, born in 2006 and it is a project coordinated by prof. Calogero Sportato composed of students from the guitar courses of the Liceo Musicale. Since its establishment, the ensemble has participated in national competitions and festivals as well as various cultural and musical events organized by organizations and associations.. In September of 2008 the ensemble is invited to represent Sardinia during the inauguration of the school year held in the Quirinale in the presence of the highest officials of the State. The performance was recorded by RAI educational. In May of 2009 wins the bronze medal at the "6th international classical guitar competition in the city of Gorizia", participating as the only Italians in the category, duo – trio – quartet and guitar ensemble.

Our concert includes the performance of 21 soundtracks of famous films that have made the history of world cinema.
We will go through the music of the most important composers of music for films such as: Hupfeld, Curtain, Morricone, Rota, Williams, Horner, Jacobs – Casey, Piovani. The soundtracks range from cinema classics to the most loved and most awarded series in the history of cinema such as: White House, For a bunch of dollars, The Godfather, Star Wars, Grease, James Bond, The Pink Panther, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, Life is Beautiful, Pirates of the Caribbean, The fabulous world of Amelie. All the music is chosen from those that perform best with a group of 16 guitars, the arrangements were handled by Calogero Sportato, director of the dal ensemble 2006.
