An important international recognition for the’Sweet Accents Ensemble, invited to participate in the first edition of Baroque Festival, international festival dedicated to ancient music scheduled for ad White Iulia (Romania) dal 14 al 18 July 2026.
This first edition of the festival was born from the collaboration between Baroque Festival, l’Dolci Accenti Association and the International Festival of Ancient Music Timeless Notes, giving rise to an international synergy aimed at promoting training, the research and diffusion of ancient music.
As part of the festival, the musicians of the ensemble will be the protagonists of an intense teaching activity through a series of masterclasses aimed at young musicians and all those who wish to delve deeper into the repertoire and historically informed performance practice. The Barockada project is conceived as an international training platform that combines individual lessons, chamber music, team work, orchestral activity and concerts.
The teachers of the Dolci Accenti Ensemble will hold the following courses:
- Daniel Cernuto: baroque cello, baroque singing and ensemble music;
- Calogero Sportato: baroque guitar, continuous bass and ensemble music;
- Cipriana Smarandescu: harpsichord, continuous bass and ensemble music.
Alongside the teaching activity, the ensemble will also be the protagonist of one of the concerts of the festival, presenting the program “A Cavalier of Spain”, dedicated to the Italian and Spanish repertoire between the 16th and 17th centuries.
The educational role of’Dolci Accenti Association, developed through’Accademia Galan and consolidated thanks to the experience gained over the years with its training courses and with the creation of the teaching units of Sassari e Caltanissetta, will make a wealth of skills and methodologies already widely tested available to the new project. An experience that will contribute significantly to the growth of the Barockada Festival and its consolidation in the international panorama of training dedicated to ancient music.
The invitation to the Barockada Festival represents an important milestone for the Dolci Accenti Ensemble and testifies to the growing international recognition of its artistic and educational activity, further strengthening its presence in the European panorama of early music.
